Full set of Australian 2 cent coins. A great way to complete your Australian decimal collection, since these coins are no longer in circulation and are becoming difficult to find.
This set includes coins from all years of standard circulation issue (1966 - 1985 and 1988-1989)
Introduced in 1966 at the commencement of Decimal Currency in Australia, the two cent coin was struck in Bronze. The early version of the coin has the Arnold Machin 2nd portrait of the Queen and ran until 1984, when it was replaced in 1985 with the Raphael D. Makleouf 3rd Portrait of the Queen.
The reverse features a frill-necked Lizard (Chlamydosaurus kingii), also known as the Frilled Dragon, endemic to Australia and south New Guinea.
Coins in these sets range from very fine to extra fine condition.
