Item Description:

This set of two PNC/FDC honour the centenary of the completion of the 1,690-kilometre transcontinental railway between Port Augusta in South Australia and Kalgoorlie, in Western Australia. The line was officially opened on 22 October 1917.

The stamps on the PNC feature a figure on a G-Class locomotive as it speeds across the desrt. The blue PNC shows a GM1 locomotive, and the orange pnc shows a G2 locomotive.
Australia Post 2017 Issue nos 15 and 17.

The coins feature each train the obverse of an uncirculated $1 coin, with Queen Elizabeth 2.
