The featured $1 coloured coin depicts a dramatic Chinese dragon, a powerful symbol traditionally associated with Chinese New Year celebrations. The design also incorporates Chinese lanterns, the Chinese characters for “Happy New Year” , and The Perth Mint’s traditional P mintmark .
The coin is presented within a vibrantly illustrated Australia Post cover featuring $1.10 and $3.30 Year of the Tiger stamps , together with Australia Post’s Seal of Authenticity. The cover is officially postmarked First Day of Issue – 6 January 2022, Christmas Island WA 6798 .
