Emperor Claudius copper as, referenced in Sear at 1862. Issued by the Mint in Rome in 41-42 AD. Obverse shows the bare head of Claudius facing left, with legend TI CLAVDIVS CAESAR AVG around. Reverse shows Minerva advancing right brandishing spear and holding shield, with SC split on each side.
This highly sought after coin is a terrific example with an excellent portrait, well centred and showing a pleasing forest green patina.
