The 2012 Red Poppy $2 coin was released to commemorate Remembrance Day and to honor the sacrifices of Australian service personnel. It was also the first coloured circulating coin produced by the Royal Australian Mint. The coin features a red poppy on the reverse side, a symbol synonymous with Remembrance Day and the RSL's Red Poppy Appeal.

- New uncirculated direct from a sealed coin roll.
- Handled carefully with white cotton gloves and placed into a premium lighthouse two dollar coin capsule.

Purpose:
The primary purpose of the coin was to commemorate Remembrance Day and to recognize the sacrifices made by Australians in war and armed conflict.
Design:
The coin features a striking red poppy on the reverse side, with the words "Lest We Forget" inscribed around it. The poppy is a symbolic representation of the sacrifice of those who have died in battle.
RSL Partnership:
The Royal Australian Mint partnered with the RSL for this release, as the poppy is a key symbol of the RSL's Red Poppy Appeal, which provides support to Returned and Ex-Servicemen and their families.
