Obverse King Charles III This year marks 30 years since the Torres Strait Islander Flag was proclaimed an official flag of Australia — a powerful symbol of identity, unity and pride. To honour the occasion, the Mint proudly presents two $2 coins that pay tribute to the enduring spirit and heritage of Torres Strait Islander peoples.

The flag is displayed alongside the Australian flag to acknowledge and celebrate the rich history and diverse cultures of Australia’s First Nation’s peoples.

Designed by Royal Australian Mint coin designer Elyssa Waterford, the coins bring together cultural symbolism and artistic craftsmanship to mark this significant anniversary. The 2025 $2 Fine Silver Proof Coin and the 2025 $2 Coloured Uncirculated Coin both feature the 'C' Mintmark and highlight the strength, identity and connection represented by the Torres Strait Islander Flag.
