The Legend of the Lady in White
According to local legend, Mathilde Robin, a grief-stricken bride-to-be, was dressed in her white wedding gown when she plunged into the waters of Montmorency Falls following the death of her beloved during the Battle of Beauport in 1759.
Her body was never found, and generations of visitors have claimed to hear cries or catch glimpses of her ghost around the falls.
The Royal Canadian Mint brings this haunting tale to life on the coin's reverse, creating a fascinating combination of Canadian history, folklore, and modern coin technology.
